About this specimen
This particular specimen features a dense cluster of warm peach-colored Stilbite crystals with a contrasting colorless to translucent Apophyllite crystal prominently developed across the upper portion. The Stilbite shows broad bladed and radiating crystal growth with a soft pearly luster, while the Apophyllite displays sharper geometric faces and a brighter vitreous appearance. Stilbite and Apophyllite are a well-documented association in the basalt-hosted cavities of India, particularly within the Deccan Trap mineral fields of Maharashtra, where successive mineral-rich fluids produced complex intergrowths of zeolite and Apophyllite crystals. Comparable specimens are documented with peach Stilbite associated with clear Apophyllite.
