About this specimen

Stilbite on Heulandite Crystal Cluster | Natural Indian Mineral Specimen | 8×4×4 cm | 80g

This particular Stilbite on Heulandite specimen shows a contrasting arrangement of pale honey-colored Heulandite crystals with bright, translucent white Stilbite growing across and around the older mineral surface. In the Deccan Trap basalt cavities of Maharashtra, zeolite minerals formed through successive stages of mineral-rich fluids, with Heulandite and Stilbite commonly occurring together. Stilbite often developed later as pearly, bladed, radiating or sheaf-like aggregates over earlier Heulandite, producing the layered crystal growth seen in many Indian collector specimens. This association is well documented from Maharashtra, including Pune and Nashik-region localities.
