About this specimen

This particular specimen features pale pink Apophyllite crystals developed across a Chalcedony-rich matrix, creating a soft contrast between the translucent crystal faces and the fine-grained silica base. Pink Apophyllite on Chalcedony is documented from Maharashtra, including specimens from Jalgaon and Pune-region deposits. In these basalt-hosted cavities, silica-rich fluids formed Chalcedony before later mineral growth produced Apophyllite crystals across the cavity surface. Comparable Maharashtra specimens show pink Apophyllite associated directly with pink or white Chalcedony, sometimes with finely developed crystal habits and natural color variation.
