About this specimen

Natural Peach Pink Stilbite with White Apophyllite Crystal Cluster – 80 g

Beautiful Natural Peach Pink Stilbite with White Apophyllite Crystal Cluster, featuring several prominent peach to soft salmon-colored Stilbite aggregates with distinctive radiating, fan-like and sheaf-shaped crystal growth. The large Stilbite formations stand prominently from a contrasting bed of white to translucent zeolite crystals, giving the specimen an attractive three-dimensional appearance.

The peach-pink Stilbite displays the classic pearly, radiating aggregate habit for which Indian Stilbite specimens are well known. Fine bladed crystals spread outward from the central growths, producing elegant fan and bow-tie-like formations. Smaller white crystals densely cover the surrounding matrix, adding excellent contrast and depth.

Indian Stilbite from the Maharashtra Deccan Trap region is particularly renowned for pink to deep-salmon colors and large bow-tie or sheaf-shaped aggregates. Documented Maharashtra specimens also show Stilbite occurring with Apophyllite and other zeolite-group minerals.

With a size of 16 × 11 × 4 cm and a weight of 80 g, this is a large-format but lightweight specimen with a broad vertical display profile.

Geological Note

Stilbite is one of the classic zeolite minerals of Maharashtra, India. The Nashik region in particular is documented for exceptionally large Stilbite specimens, commonly showing pink to deep-salmon colors and characteristic bow-tie, fan, and sheaf-shaped aggregates. Stilbite is also documented in association with Apophyllite in Maharashtra's basalt-hosted cavities.

The combination of peach-pink Stilbite and white zeolite-group crystals represents a classic Indian Deccan Trap mineral assemblage and is especially characteristic of specimens from the Maharashtra zeolite belt.

Please Note: This is a natural mineral specimen. Natural variations in color, crystal formation, transparency, texture, inclusions, fractures, cavities, chips, matrix, contact areas, and surface characteristics are expected and contribute to the uniqueness of each specimen.
