This is a beautiful natural Green Apophyllite specimen from Katrad village near Vambori, in the Ahmednagar (Ahilyanagar) district of Maharashtra, India. The specimen was recovered from a large cavity that produced several hundred crystals displaying a distinctive habit reminiscent of the famous “disco ball” Apophyllite terminations associated with the Momin Akhada locality near Rahuri.
Unlike the earlier fully formed spherical or disco-ball-style terminations, the crystals from this particular cavity show an incomplete development of the rounded termination, creating an attractive arrangement of tapered, flat-terminated Apophyllite crystals. The crystals are beautifully set across a contrasting white Stilbite matrix, giving the specimen excellent visual depth and a classic Maharashtra zeolite-mineral aesthetic.
The combination of translucent green Apophyllite crystals, sharp terminations, and white Stilbite creates a highly attractive natural display piece. Every specimen is unique, with its own crystal arrangement, surface texture, inclusions, and natural imperfections resulting from its formation and recovery.
A fine choice for mineral collectors, Apophyllite enthusiasts, zeolite collectors, or anyone looking for an authentic natural Indian mineral specimen with an interesting locality and crystal habit.
