This attractive natural Green Apophyllite specimen features naturally formed crystals with the fresh green coloration, geometric crystal form, and glassy luster that make Indian Apophyllite highly desirable among mineral collectors. Apophyllite from the Deccan Trap region of Maharashtra is particularly well known for its attractive green to transparent crystals and distinctive crystal habits.
Indian Apophyllite is frequently encountered in association with zeolite minerals, especially Stilbite, within cavities formed in basaltic volcanic rock. Well-documented specimens from Maharashtra show green Apophyllite crystals contrasting with creamy or white Stilbite, producing classic Indian collector specimens.
This specimen measures approximately 6 × 5 × 6 cm and weighs approximately 130 grams, making it an excellent compact small-cabinet collector specimen. Natural variations in crystal size, transparency, luster, inclusions, contact areas, surface texture, and minor imperfections are part of its geological character and help preserve the individuality of each natural specimen.
A suitable addition to an Apophyllite collection, Indian mineral collection, zeolite collection, or geological display.
