Apophyllite with Heulandite & Stilbite — Natural Mineral Specimen
This distinctive natural mineral specimen features Apophyllite crystals associated with Heulandite and Stilbite, an attractive multi-mineral combination known from the zeolite-rich basalt cavities of Maharashtra, India. Comparable documented Deccan Trap specimens contain red Apophyllite together with white Stilbite and peach or red Heulandite, producing a striking combination of contrasting colors, crystal forms, and luster.
The Apophyllite provides the principal crystalline focus, while Heulandite and Stilbite form an attractive supporting association. Stilbite commonly develops in graceful bladed, sheaf-like, bow-tie, or rosette aggregates, whereas Heulandite may occur as tabular or radiating crystals with pearly to vitreous luster. Apophyllite is valued for its well-defined geometric crystals and bright vitreous luster.
Measuring approximately 10 × 5 × 4 cm and weighing 130 grams, this is a substantial collector-size mineral specimen suitable for a mineral cabinet, zeolite collection, geological display, or Indian mineral collection.
Natural variations in color, crystal size, transparency, luster, inclusions, contact areas, minor fractures, and surface texture are characteristic of naturally formed minerals.
