Apophyllite Crystal Cluster 7×6×4 cm | 160g

This particular Apophyllite cluster shows a dense formation of pale, translucent to colorless crystals with bright vitreous luster and closely intergrown crystal faces. Apophyllite commonly forms within open cavities of basaltic volcanic rocks, where mineral-rich fluids deposit successive layers of crystals. In the Deccan Traps of Maharashtra, India, these cavities are well known for producing Apophyllite clusters, often with sharply formed prismatic crystals and pyramidal terminations. The dense intergrowth seen here creates a three-dimensional crystal surface with natural variations in transparency, crystal size, contacts and internal textures. Similar Maharashtra specimens are documented from cavity deposits near Pune.
