Apophyllite commonly forms inside open cavities of basaltic volcanic rocks, where silica- and water-rich fluids allow successive generations of crystals to develop across cavity surfaces. In the Deccan Trap region of Maharashtra, Apophyllite is frequently found together with zeolite minerals and can occur as sharply defined prismatic, tabular, or pseudo-cubic crystals as well as compact clusters.
