Indian Apophyllite is especially well known from the Deccan Traps of Maharashtra, where it occurs in cavity pockets together with zeolite-group minerals. The crystals commonly develop as prismatic forms with sharply defined terminations or as compact intergrown clusters, producing the layered three-dimensional arrangement seen here.
